The place, “L’eau Vive”, is the hub of paddle sports – The Federation of Canoe/Kayak and the French Federation of Rowing are installed there. No less that 8 rowing clubs can be found within 6 kms of our course. In 1990, the River Marne was like Eldorado where Parisians went on Sundays to bathe, go boating, rowing, sailing and above all to boogie and drink “le petit vin blanc” as in the French song!

In the village “L’Eau Vive” our reception area and evening venue used to be a famous “guingette” , a riverside dancehall and cafe called “La Pomme D’Api”.

How to get there

  • by RER (line A, stopping at Joinville le Pont)
  • by bike across Le Bois de Vincennes and the Velib stop at the RER station
  • by car (perhaps most practical if transporting a board) close to the A4
    motorway

We suggest you park in a secure garage by the river at the 4 star “Camping Homair”. The price is from 6.50 euros per day (and, of course, free if you are staying there).

We also recommend that you put your board into the water at the camping/ parking site.
The distance between the camping site and the village “L’Eau Vive’ is 1000m on foot (a calm route along the River Marne). You and your companions can rent a bicycle or even a scooter for the weekend

Accommodation

You will have guess that the best plan is the 4 star camping site, comprising of bungalows; it’s simple and inexpensive. Other options include Hotel Kyriad, other AirBnB or hotels.

The camping site also offers breakfast and meals.
• the best restaurant in the area is without doubt le Petit Pont, romantic according to your wishes, where you eat well and where all the family do
Stand Up Paddle
• La Mascotte finally for a drink or food, the RV of the yachtsmen and paddlers of the Grand Huit

The village of “L’Eau Vive”

Registration confirmations for collecting your number, joining in the activities and visiting the village stalls are on the Polangis quay. 18 stalls await you there. You can talk SUP equipment, environmental conservation, taste top of the range mineral waters or learn to use the gyro-wheel.

Let’s boogie tonight!

This will also be the venue for the Saturday DJ evening – an evening animated by members of Le Grand Huit, you won’t get bored!
The evening includes a drink and buffet at 13 euros per person. Other drinks can be bought at the bar.
